Custom Bronze Slide Block for Heavy Equipment

Bronze slide blocks (sometimes called bronze slide pads or sliding plates) carry reciprocating and sliding loads on crushers, presses, machine slides and other heavy equipment. Where a steel-on-steel contact would tend to gall or seize, a cast bronze slide block provides a lower-friction, wear-resistant interface that can be replaced when it reaches its wear limit. We cast and machine these blocks to your drawing or to a worn sample.

Design & materials

Bronze slide blocks are usually specified in tin bronze or aluminium bronze, depending on load, sliding speed and lubrication. C93200 (SAE 660) tin bronze is a common choice for medium-load sliding surfaces, while C95400 aluminium bronze is often selected where higher strength and impact resistance are needed. Graphite-plugged versions can be supplied for locations where lubrication is difficult to maintain. Blocks can be cast as plain plates or with oil grooves, bolt holes and locating features machined in.

Manufacturing & inspection

We produce slide blocks by sand casting, metal mold casting or centrifugal casting depending on size and quantity, then finish them with in-house CNC machining to the drawing tolerances. Each batch is checked with spectrometer composition analysis and hardness testing in our own laboratory. If you only have a worn part, we can reverse-engineer it and match the original alloy.
