Casting into a rotating mold: dense, porosity-free structure and superior mechanical properties for symmetric parts like bushings and rings.

Centrifugal casting pours molten bronze into a mold spinning around its axis. Centrifugal force packs the metal outward, pushes gas and inclusions inward to be machined off, and produces a dense, fine-grained structure with mechanical properties noticeably above sand casting.

It is the right process for essentially cylindrical parts — bushings, sleeves, rings, flanges, thrust washers — whose bore is machined from the cast blank. Because density is highest where the bearing surface lives, centrifugal bronze is the default choice for loaded bushings and bearing seats.

Our centrifugal foundry produces blanks from small instrument bushes to heavy equipment bearings, and the CNC shop finishes bores, faces and grooves on every blank we pour.
