Graphite-Plugged Self-Lubricating Bushings
Bronze bushings with graphite plugs pressed into the bore for maintenance-free operation where greasing is impractical or forgotten.
Self-lubricating bushings have solid graphite plugs embedded in the bore. Under running, the graphite transfers onto the shaft, forming a dry lubricating film — so the bushing works for long periods without grease lines, oil pumps or service access.
They are the pragmatic answer for pivot points that are hard to reach, operate in dusty environments, or are simply rarely greased: excavator boom pins, crusher toggle seats, conveyor idler links, gate mechanisms, agricultural equipment and marine deck gear. We drill and press graphite plugs to your pattern, spacing and depth.
A plain bronze bushing remains the lower-cost choice where lubrication is reliable; graphite-plugged bushings earn their extra cost on hard-to-maintain joints. Tell us the load, motion and environment, and we will confirm whether a plain or graphite-plugged design fits better — plus alloy selection.
