Five standard alloys cover nearly every bearing and wear position in industrial machinery. The right choice depends on load, dirt, lubrication and environment — we pour all of them daily.

C93200 (SAE 660) — High-Leaded Tin Bronze

CompositionCopper 81–85%, Tin 6.3–7.5%, Lead 6–8%, Zinc 4–7%
Key PropertiesAll-purpose bearing bronze. Good strength, good machinability, excellent embeddability and tolerance of gritty, poorly lubricated service.
Typical ApplicationsGeneral purpose bushings and bearings: crushers, gearboxes, pumps, agricultural equipment, heavy machinery.

C93200, commonly known as SAE 660, is the industry standard general-purpose bearing bronze. Its lead content gives it the ability to absorb and embed particles of dirt and debris, protecting the shaft from scoring, and its tin content provides strength and hardness. It is the most economical choice for the majority of industrial bushing applications and is the alloy we recommend unless your application demands more.

C93700 — High-Leaded Tin Bronze (Grit Service)

CompositionCopper 78–82%, Tin 9–11%, Lead 9–12%
Key PropertiesStill higher lead content for the dirtiest service: maximum embeddability, seizure resistance under heavy shock loads and boundary lubrication.
Typical ApplicationsCone crusher socket liners, severe-service bushings in mining, heavy shock-load bearings.

C93700 carries the highest lead content of our standard alloys, which makes it the first choice where oil supply is marginal and grit is everywhere — the exact conditions of crusher and mining service. It will embed contamination rather than let it cut the shaft, at some cost in strength and machinability compared with C93200. We commonly specify it for socket liners and severe-duty mining bushings.

C95400 — Aluminum Bronze

CompositionCopper 83–87%, Aluminum 10–11.5%, Iron 3–4.5%
Key PropertiesThe strongest of our standard alloys: high strength and hardness, good fatigue resistance, corrosion resistance in seawater, retains strength at elevated temperature.
Typical ApplicationsHeavy-load bushings, sliding plates, wear plates, worm gear rings, seawater and hot cement-service components.

Aluminum bronze C95400 is the choice when loads exceed what tin bronzes can carry. Its strength approaches steel, it resists corrosion including seawater, and it keeps useful strength at temperatures where lead-free tin bronzes soften. Harder than tin bronzes, it demands clean, well-aligned, reasonably lubricated service; your operating conditions decide whether C95400 or a tin bronze is the better fit.

C86300 — Manganese Bronze (High Strength)

CompositionCopper 60–66%, Zinc 22–28%, Manganese 2.5–5%, Iron 2–4%, Aluminum 0.5–1.5%
Key PropertiesExtremely high strength and hardness for a cast copper alloy, tough and wear resistant; low cost per unit of strength.
Typical ApplicationsWorm gears, slide blocks, heavy-duty screws and nuts, press and mill components, high-load sliding elements.

Manganese bronze C86300 is one of the strongest cast copper alloys available, often used where a steel part is being replaced but must not corrode or gall. Its toughness suits sliding and loaded components such as worm gear rings, screw nuts and press slide blocks. High strength comes at the price of higher friction than lead-bearing alloys, so it suits well-lubricated, aligned service.

C90700 — Tin Bronze

CompositionCopper 88–90%, Tin 10–12%
Key PropertiesLead-free tin bronze: high strength and hardness, excellent wear resistance in clean lubricated service, corrosion resistant.
Typical ApplicationsWorm wheels, gears, heavily loaded bearings with reliable lubrication, wear plates in machinery.

C90700 is a lead-free tin bronze with strong mechanical properties, favored for gear and worm wheel blanks and for loaded, well-lubricated bearings where its hardness and wear resistance pay off. Its performance in clean, lubricated positions is excellent; where dirt or boundary lubrication is expected, a leaded alloy such as C93200 is usually the more forgiving choice.

C51100 Phosphor Bronze

CompositionCu 94.8%, Sn 4.2%, P 0.3%
Key PropertiesHigh corrosion resistance, excellent spring properties, good electrical conductivity.
Typical ApplicationsMarine hardware, springs, electrical contacts, corrosion-resistant bushings.

C51100 phosphor bronze offers outstanding resistance to saltwater corrosion combined with good strength. It is the standard choice for marine bushings and fittings where long service in seawater is required.

C95800 Aluminium Bronze

CompositionCu 81%, Al 9.5%, Ni 4.5%, Fe 4%
Key PropertiesVery high strength and corrosion resistance, especially in seawater; good wear performance.
Typical ApplicationsMarine propellers, pump components, valve stems, seawater pump bushings.

C95800 nickel-aluminium bronze combines high mechanical strength with excellent seawater resistance. It is widely used for marine pump bushings, impellers and heavy-duty fittings.
