Graphite Bronze Slide Plate for Heavy Equipment

Bronze slide plates carry sliding loads on press frames, guideways, and machine slides, where a cast iron or steel surface would score or seize. Design and materials

A bronze slide plate is a flat cast body with machined top and bottom faces. Graphite plugs are set into through holes across the working face, separated by counterbored recesses that hold graphite powder and keep it on the sliding surface. Common alloys for this duty include C93200 (SAE 660) tin bronze for moderate loads and C95400 aluminum bronze where impact and abrasion are heavier. Plates can also be supplied in manganese bronze or a customer-specified grade.

Typical applications

Graphite bronze slide plates are used on hydraulic presses, forging and metallurgical equipment, construction and mining machinery, and general sliding guideways. Manufacturing and inspection

We pour in our own foundry using sand casting, centrifugal casting, or metal mold casting, then machine in-house to the drawing. Composition is checked on a spectrometer and hardness is tested before shipment. Custom castings can be produced from a drawing or a worn sample, including OEM replacement plates.
