Custom Copper Ring for Mining & Heavy Equipment

A copper ring is a simple shape with a demanding job: it carries load, resists wear and keeps rotating or sliding assemblies aligned. In mining and heavy equipment, rings are used as bearing collars, seal rings, wear rings and spacer rings, where the alloy and the fit matter more than the geometry alone. We cast and machine copper rings to your drawing or to a worn sample, matching the original material grade where it is known.

Design & materials

Alloy choice follows the duty, not a catalogue default. Tin bronze such as C93200 (SAE 660) is a common starting point for medium-load rings with good machinability and bearing properties. Where shock and abrasive slurry are present, aluminum bronze grades such as C95400 or C95800 tend to be selected for their strength and wear resistance. Manganese bronze C86300 is used where higher strength is required. We can also cast to a customer-specified grade, including ZCuSn10P1 and other copper alloys.

Typical applications

Copper rings appear across crushing circuits, cement mills, conveyors and pump assemblies. Typical uses include bearing collars and locating rings on crusher shafts, wear rings in pumps and hydraulic cylinders, and spacer rings in gearboxes and drives. Because the ring is often a wear item, the practical approach is to match the alloy and hardness to the original part and the operating conditions rather than to a generic specification. Manufacturing & inspection

Casting and machining are done in one workshop, which keeps the ring round, concentric and to size. Centrifugal casting is used where a denser structure is wanted; sand casting suits larger or lower-volume rings; metal mold casting is used for repeatable smaller parts. After machining, each ring is checked for composition and hardness in our own laboratory, and dimensions are verified against the drawing.
