A bronze bearing bushing is the sacrificial wear element between a rotating shaft and its housing. In crushers, conveyors, pumps and construction machinery, the bushing carries radial load, absorbs shock and keeps the shaft located — so the cost of a worn bushing is usually measured in unplanned downtime rather than in the part itself. We cast and machine these bushings to your drawing, or reverse-engineer them from a worn sample when no drawing exists.

Design & materials

Bushing performance depends on matching alloy to load, speed and lubrication. Tin bronze such as C93200 (SAE 660) is a common choice for medium-load, medium-speed sliding bearings, while aluminum bronze C95400 and manganese bronze C86300 are typically selected where impact, high load or poor lubrication conditions are present. Where grease access is difficult, graphite-plugged self-lubricating bushings are an option. We can also match the original manufacturer's material specification for OEM replacement parts.

  • Plain, flanged and thrust configurations
  • Solid or cored castings, with oil grooves and lubrication holes machined as required
  • Alloys poured in-house to the grade you specify
  • Reverse engineering from a worn or broken sample

Typical applications

Bronze bushings are used across mining and quarrying equipment, aggregate and crushing plants, cement mills, construction machinery, and pump, valve and hydraulic assemblies — anywhere a steel shaft runs in a housing under load. See our bronze bushing range for related configurations, and the mining industry page for the equipment types we commonly supply.

Manufacturing & inspection

We combine casting and machining under one roof: centrifugal casting for denser, more consistent wall sections, plus sand casting and metal mold casting for larger or more complex shapes. Each batch is checked for chemical composition on our in-house spectrometer and tested for hardness before shipment, and machined to your drawing tolerances on our own CNC equipment. Send your drawing or a worn sample for a free evaluation.
